Misc. Vintage Wrestling
Here's a match match featuring Angelo Poffo taking on the popular Jerry Christy from The International Amphitheater in Chicago. From Fred Kohler's territory this match was probably from the 1950's. The Great Togo was one of the top Japanese heel wrestlers of the 50's and 60's. He would also form a team with "brother" Tosh Togo. Poffo would go on to promote his ICW in a promotional war in Memphis. His sons Randy "Macho Man" Savage and "Leaping" Lanny Poffo would follow him into wrtstling.

Sandor Szabo takes on both Louie Miller and The Great Bolo (Al Lovelock) in a great match from The Hollywood Legion Stadium in the Los Angeles territory. This is a handicap, grudge match and Szabo must face and beat Louie Miller and then The Great Bolo within 1 hour. I don't believe this match has been available before. This is my transfer from the 16mm film I recently obtained. This is one of my latest purchases that I was able to make thanks to the support of the Youtube ads and DVD's I sell. Sandor Szabo was one of the all-time greats, a former World Heavyweight Champion and a long time California mainstay. Louie Miller was also a long time California wrestler, manager and promoter. Al Lovelock was one of the great masked men wrestling across the country as The Great Bolo. Bill Welsh and Jules Strongbow handle the commentary and ring announcing.

Wrestler Nick Lutze takes on boxer Pio Pico. This comes from the 8/11/1937 super show from Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. There have been many boxer vs wrestler matches since the late 1800's. I believe this is the earliest that is now available. Work or shoot, you can decide.
Nick Lutze who was very popular and a top draw as a wrestler. He would turn to promotion and force Lou Daro and Toots Mondt out of business in LA. Unfortunately he would be forced out himself by the newly formed NWA. The referee is former Champion Max Baer.

John and Chris Tolos may have inadvertently made history sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s.
Here are some short clips of a match between two all time greats. June Byers is arguably one of the greatest women wrestlers of all time. Close behind would be Penny Banner.

Very rare vintage Pro Wrestling (amateur footage) from Atlanta Georgia between 1968 and 1969. Shot on Super 8mm Black & White. Video is full of random clips. Sorry that the general quality is not so good (very jumpy) but it is a very rare video. There are a multitude of Masked Men throughout the video. The material was discovered on a disk without any sound. Audio soundtrack was created by me. Just a bunch of random songs from a personal library. If you do not wish to listen please mute.
Classic 1960s Golden Age Wrestling
The Brusier, the Ox, the Mongolian Stomper and the Assassin. On weekends in the 1960s and 70s, pro wrestlers pretty much ruled St. Joseph. Alonzo Weston looks back on those good old wrasslin' days -- in this week's Tales of the Midland Empire.
Professional wrestling from 1913 has never been so funny! As the US congress decides that women can participate in the death matches featured on Midweek Midcard Matchups, we join "Pyrite" Paulie Persimmons and Val Veeta for an epic rousting of two tomatoes in the center of the squared circle. Jacqueline "The Jonker" Jacobs takes on Martha "The Mattress" Wayne in this classic black and white women's wrestling match from 1913 ... probably.

Here is a great tag match featuring a very young Verne Gagne & Bobby Bruns facing off against Rudy Kay & Al Williams. The All-American Gagne would go on the co-found and star as the champion of the AWA. Bruns was a highly successful wrestler who went on to a great career as booker in the St; Louis and Buffalo territories.

(2nd Hour of the TV show. The date is an educated guess based on knowing the show was shown on Thursday nights and looking at the history of WWWF running at the Coliseum in Washington DC. If anyone believes it to be a different date, please let me know)
1) "Cowboy" Bill Watts vs Tomas Marin
2) Chief Big Heart vs Tony Newberry
3) Vittorio Apollo vs Bob Boyer
4) Chief White Owl vs Steve "Mr. America" Stanlee
Here is wild wrestling match featuring Dick The Bruiser Afflis vs Bill Melby from Fred Kohler's Chicago territory. After being thrown off the Green Bay Packers football team Dick Afflis turned to professional wrestling. Creating havoc across the country, The Bruiser eventually owned and promoted the WWA out of Indianapolis. Bill Melby was a famous body builder who became a popular wrestler through the 50's.

Here Miguel Guzman takes on the giant Mike Sharpe in a match from the Los Angeles territory. The great Jules Strongbow handles the commentary and Mike Mazurki (founder of the Cauliflower Alley Club and movie actor) is the referee. Black Guzman is a legendary Luchador and pioneer Mexican wrestler. He was one of the top stars to bring in the high flying style of wrestling along with his brother El Santo. Mike teamed with brother Ben to be one of the premier tag teams of the 1950's. They are also one of the first to become huge stars in Japan.

1950s & 1960s Classic Wrestling
Here is another great match featuring Chief Don Eagle vs "Dandy" Dan Miller. The match would have been from Pedro Martinez's Buffalo area territory. Don Eagle was one of the great draws of the 1950's and early 60's. Dan Miller (brother to Big Bill Miller) was a top star with his brother and then carved a very good career as a single in the Mid-Atlantic territory.

Baron Michele Leone takes on a young Billy Varga (later becoming "royalty" adding Count to his name) in a battle of two Los Angeles greats. The match is from the early 1950's with the great Dick Lane is your announcer and my favorite Dan Tobey is the ring announcer. Both wrestlers would be hugely popular for many years. Varga was a second generation star with his father Joe a former wrestler and Los Angeles referee.

The ballet dancing Ricki Starr takes on the imposing Fritz von Wallick. I believe it to be a 1959 match from the Sunnyside Gardens in New York. Ricki (Bernard Herman) is at his flamboyant best and shows off moves that are well ahead of their time. Starr was a huge attraction through the 1950's and early 60's before moving to England and remaining a top wrestler through the 70's. Underneath the act Starr was a rough and skilled wrestler. This is my transfer from a 16mm film that a fellow collecting friend sent to me. Matt was kind enough to let me use the transfer on my channel and make it available to everyone.

Another new weekly program from Jadat Sports. Wrestling Classic covers matches from the 50's, 60's and 70's. With the 6 weekly programs Jadat Sports covers the history of Pro wrestling over a 60 year period.
Here is a very short "match" from Pedro Martinez's Buffalo territory. Buffalo legend Ilio DiPaolo takes on "Dandy" Dan Miller in a very short "match". While short it's always great to see Ilio and you also get a chance to see all three Miller "brothers" together. Dr. Bill and Dan were actual brothers and Ed Albers worked with them as Ed Miller.

Here veteran Bob "Legs" Langevin takes on all-time great and future NWA Champion Pat O'connor. Langevin was taught his airplane leg scissors by all-time great Jim Browning. Pat O'Connor, the popular wrestler from New Zealand, would go on to win the NWA Heavyweight Championship from Dick Hutton. He would hold the belt until losing to Buddy Rogers in 1963. The quality isn't the best but it has only the match and crowd sounds, not the usual poor commentary. The match is from Fred Kohler's Chicago territory.

Dating from the 1960's Fred Kohler's TV program was filmed at the Chicago Coliseum. "The Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers takes on Wladek "Killer" Kowalski in an all time great 2 out of 3 falls match. I have the whole show uploaded on my channel but had a request to break out just this match.

Classic 1950s Golden Age Wrestling
Here is a match from Buffalo's Memorial Auditorium featuring Gene Kiniski vs the original Mexican strongman The Mighty Ursus (Jesse "The Bull" Ortega). I believe this is the December 13, 1957 match from Pedro Martinez's Buffalo Territory. Gene "Big Thunder" Kiniski would hold the NWA and AWA championships. The Mighty Ursus (Jesse "The Bull" Ortega) was a Mexican strongman and I don't believe there are many of his matches available online.

Here is a rare match featuring Paul "The World's Strongest Man" Anderson vs Bozo Brown from the International Amphitheater in Chicago. This match features two greats from the 50's and 60's as Lou Klein and Gene Dubuque face off. Lou Klein rose to fame under the name Bastien with his wrestling “brother” Red. Klein then switched back to real name and wrestled across the country, especially in the Detroit area. Dubuque would rise to even greater fame wrestling under the name The Magnificent Maurice. He would team with Handsome Johnny Barend and go on to headline Madison Square Garden and across the northeast.

Leo Garibaldi takes on Billy McDaniel from Los Angeles at the Hollywood Legion Stadium in the second match from the At Ringside With the Wrestlers TV show. I don't believe this match has been available before. This is my transfer from the 16mm film I recently obtained. Unfortunately the film has vinegar syndrome and has started to deteriorate so this is the best transfer I was able to make. The match is from the early 50's and has the great Dan Tobey as ring announcer. Leo Garibaldi was a great second generation star following in the footsteps of father Gino. After wrestling Garibaldi had a great career in booking and promoting wrestling. Billy McDaniel also wrestled as a "brother" to Fred Blassie.

Here is a rare match featuring Bronco Lubich (Bronko Sandor Lupsity) vs Jack Allen from the International Amphitheater in Chicago. The quality isn't the best but it's a rare chance to see Bronco in the ring without his referee's shirt. Bronco teamed with Aldo Bogni to form a top tag team and also worked as a manager. He was more famous in his role as the referee (also part owner) of the WCCW territory in Dallas. His opponent, Jack Allen was the nephew of Friedrich Von Schacht. Allen died at a young age in 1966.

Probably the 1940s or 1950s Unknown Pro Women's Wrestling. Most likely European. The crowd certainly enjoyed seeing the distaff part of pro wrestling in action back then.
Here is another great match from Buffalo promoter Pedro Martinez, I believe this is their match from 1963. The All-American Verne Gagne takes on "The Teuton Terror" Hans Schmidt. One of the great heels of the 1950's and 60's Schmidt started out under his real name of Guy LaRose.
